Under the patronage of the President of Tikrit University, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdullah, Dean of the College of Petroleum Process Engineering, in coordination with Assistant Professor Dr. Sayyaf Abdul Hussein, Director of the Center for Continuing Education, the College of Petroleum Process Engineering organized an awareness seminar entitled: “Intellectual Immunity: Protective Shields Against Violence and Extremism”
on Monday, October 27, 2025, in the college hall. The seminar was presented by Dr. Ziad Khalaf Hammoud from the College of Islamic Sciences and Lecturer Qutaiba Hameed Mohammed from the College of Petroleum Process Engineering. The speakers discussed the concept of intellectual immunity and its importance in safeguarding individuals—particularly university youth—from succumbing to extremist ideologies and deviant behaviors. The seminar aimed to enhance students’ intellectual awareness and promote the values of moderation and balance as protective shields against extremist thought and violence. It also highlighted the university’s role in building a well-balanced and intellectually conscious personality.
